No Improvement In Drinking Water For Elementary Schools Over 6 Years

Over 85% of rural government elementary schools had a provision for drinking water in 2016, compared to 83% in 2010, while only about 74% of schools had drinking water facilities that were useable, compared to 73% in 2010, showing little progress in access to drinking water over six years, according to data collected for the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), a citizen-led survey of rural schools. Drinking water facilities include handpumps taps, any other form like an earthen pitcher or other storage vessels etc.
