Hate Speech: EC bans Yogi Adityanath, Mayawati from campaigning for 72 and 48 hours

The Times of India reports:
NEW DELHI: The Election Commission on Tuesday banned UP CM Yogi Adityanath and BSP chief Mayawati from election campaigning for 72 hours and 48 hours, respectively, starting from 6 am tomorrow for violating Model Code of Conduct (MCC). The decision was taken in response to the objectionable statements made by the two leaders in their speeches. Earlier, taking note of the alleged hate speeches made by the two leaders, during poll campaigns, the Supreme Court had sought to know from the Election Commission about the action initiated against them.
