Western media has this thing about being politically correct, (when it doesn't affect them, obviously). In a bid to appear politically correct most of the western media houses refer to Pakistani terror organizations even UN designated terror groups as militants groups, separatists, rebels etc, while having a different yardstick for the likes of Al Qaeda and ISIS which target US and their interests. In yet another such case, The New York Times has come under heavy criticism from Indians after an analytical piece it carried about the upcoming elections in India referred to the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) suicide attack on a CRPF convoy that killed over 40 paramilitary personnel as "an explosion".
