The ATM Glitch That Cost A Teacher Rs 25,000 But Taught The Bank A Lesson It'll Never Forget

ATMs we all know are extremely convenient, but one glitch during transaction has the potential to ruin your peace. Chandrakala, a teacher with a state-aided school in Chikkaballapura, holds a savings account with the BB Road branch of SBI in Chikkaballapura. She attempted to withdraw Rs 25,000 from an SBI ATM in Cholanayakanahalli, back in 2014.But due to some technical glitch, the ATM made a strange sound and no cash was dispensed. But she received a receipt saying the amount was deducted. She then went to another adjoining ATM and tried withdrawing Rs 5,000, which worked. Worried sick by the money she lost, Chandrakala went to the SBI branch next to the kiosk and approached the branch manager but to no avail. She got caught in a four-year long court battle to get the money back!
