Yogi govt cites 24% higher revenue than Akhilesh regime

The Economic Times reports:
NEW DELHI: The Yogi Adityanath government is citing increased revenue earnings of almost 24% under key heads in the first half of its tenure, compared to the previous Akhilesh Yadav regime, to claim that it has cracked down on corruption prevalent in the earlier governments in UP. A senior state government official told ET that revenue earnings under six major heads had gone up to Rs 1.2 lakh crore in 2018-19, compared to Rs 86,000 crore in 2016-17 under the Samajwadi Party regime, with increased revenue reported across departments like excise, commercial tax, transport, mining, GST and VAT, and registration.
